The idea for Auggie's Aim started when I visited my great grandmother in her assisted living facility here in Florida. It didn't take long for me to notice that not everyone had someone. The loneliness and longing for a personal connection with the younger generation was palatable. I wanted to merge my theater passion with my dream of entering the health sciences.
My mission is to impact the world in a positive way by connecting youth and different generations through theatre and performance. I want to shine a light for the unseen.

Combining theater and healthcare can be a powerful tool for promoting wellness, communication, and empathy. The use of theater in healthcare settings, also known as "drama therapy," can help patients process difficult emotions and experiences, such as dealing with a chronic illness or coping with a traumatic event. For example, patients can act out their feelings through role-playing exercises, which can provide a safe and controlled space for them to express themselves. In addition, Theater can also be used to provide education, such as role-playing exercises to practice communication skills or to educate patients on the importance of self-care and management of their condition.
Furthermore, incorporating theater into healthcare can also promote empathy and understanding between healthcare professionals and patients. By taking on the role of a patient or family member, healthcare professionals can better understand the perspective of the people they are treating and the challenges they face. This can lead to more effective communication and improved patient outcomes.
Theater can also be used to engage communities in discussions about health and wellness. For example, a community theater group could put on a play about a health topic, such as mental health, to raise awareness and start a conversation among members of the community. This can be particularly effective in reaching populations who may be traditionally underserved or hard to engage.
Overall, the use of theater in healthcare settings can be a powerful tool for promoting emotional well-being, communication, and understanding among patients, healthcare professionals, and communities. It can be also a great way to educate people on the importance of self-care, it can give the chance to practice communication skills, and it can provide a safe space to express emotions and experiences that may be difficult to talk about.
There is nothing more important and fulfilling connecting with someone on a 1-on-1 basis. It's amazing what can be learned at both sides of the spectrum.
During certain times of the year and holidays we like to put on a show. Let us provide a little escape with one of our seasonal skits/routines/concerts.
Become a volunteer. Our community is full of people who want to help. We work to help the people providing services with the people who need them. Come connect with people in new ways.
